Christmas Time

For me, Christmas has never been about the presents.

My family doesn't set aside a whole lot for gifts, so I generally use the money for some new clothes I may be needing. This year, I ended up getting my Christmas money a month early, so I'll get basically nothing on Christmas morning, but you know what? I'm OK with that.

In fact, I'm glad that I have this opportunity. I spend all my time at college thinking about myself, and it's so nice to be home and to finally enjoy some time with my family!

I never thought that I, of all people, would be saying that I LIKE being home with my family.

The thing is, as I spend more time out in the world, I find myself wanting to go back where people love me. I know this is a normal sentiment for most people, but I have to admit that perhaps I'm emotionally behind the pack upon occasion.

This year, more than previous ones, I'm just excited to be happy for Christmas. That's my present, joy that only a home can offer.

Merry Christmas! :)

  1. Happy is good. That's the way to be.

Funny how one's mind & feelings about things change depending on one's surroundings.

    I'm glad you're in a good place.
